In November 2025, we bid farewell to Habibatou Camara, SEMA member from AVIPA, the Association of Victims, Parents, and Friends of September 28, 2009 in Guinea.
On September 28, 2009, she was subjected to rape, torture, and beatings by men in military uniform during the massacre at the Conakry stadium. The violence left her gravely ill for months and deeply stigmatised, yet she refused to be silenced.
Bu joining AVIPA and connecting with survivors, Habibatou became part of a collective call for truth and accountability—a legacy that will continue to echo through the work of survivors in Guinea and beyond.
We at SEMA honour her memory and her dedication to justice.
