Description
Syrie, le cri étouffé/Slient War is a documentary that unveils the brutal realities faced by Syrian women under the Assad regime. Directed by Manon Loizeau and Annick Cojean, assisted by Libyan researcher Souad Wheidi, the film brings to light the harrowing experiences of these women who have endured conflict-related sexual violence and torture.
This documentary offers a rare and powerful glimpse into the testimonies of seven women who refuse to let their pain be erased. Their stories expose the systematic use of rape in detention centres, at checkpoints, and even within their own homes. Yet, beyond the horror, the film reveals the reliance of these women who, despite enduring the unthinkable, stand as witnesses, demanding justice and recognition.
