As UN Secretary-General António Guterres stated, sexual violence in conflict is a “threat to our collective security” and a “collective stain on our humanity.” The subject of conflict-related sexual violence (CRSV) is complex. As you explore these sections, keep in mind that, according to the United Nations, “practitioners in the field estimate that for each rape reported in connection with a conflict, 10 to 20 cases go undocumented.”
